Rain impact: Motorists face heavy traffic in Dubai, Sharjah
The police called on motorists to drive with caution and follow the traffic rules.
Heavy rains on Wednesday clogging most of the roads across the country, including Dubai-Sharjah roads. Accidents, traffic congestion, and tailbacks were reported on key highways this morning.
The Dubai Police have issued a warning following traffic accidents that caused traffic jams on roads. "Traffic jam on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road towards Dubai from the exit of Al Warqaa due to water logging of rain, "the Dubai Police said on Twitter.

In another tweet, the police also advised to take alternative route after an accident was reported on Sheikh Zayed Road towards Al Maktoum roundabout towards Dubai.
Dubai Police have urged motorists to drive safely during the rainy conditions and report an emergency via various government hotlines.
The police also urged motorists to maintain safe distance between vehicles as there is low visibility.
The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has also urged motorists to drive safely during the wet conditions. The authorities have taken all necessary measures to streamline traffic during the unstable weather conditions.
