With showers on Wednesday clogging most of the roads across the country, including Dubai-Sharjah roads, traffic congestion and tailbacks were reported on key highways today morning.

The authorities have taken all necessary measures to streamline traffic during the unstable weather conditions, but appealed to motorists to leave for work early to avoid congestion on roads.

"Dear drivers, during the rainy weather, leave early for work to avoid traffic jams," Dubai Police told the motorists.

According to Google Maps, slow moving traffic was observed on E44 Al Warqa road to Ras Al Khor area towards Dubai.


Drivers on the roads around Al Barsha, Jumeirah Village Circle and Dubai Silicon Oasis have also been facing slow moving traffic.


In Sharjah, traffic jams were observed on Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Road (E311) around Al Nahda area towards Dubai. Tailbacks were also reported on Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road from Sharjah Industrial Area towards Dubai.
