Dubai: Social media platform X down? Hundreds of users report outage
X has yet to issue an official statement acknowledging the glitch or providing details about its cause

Earlier on Monday, social media platform X experienced significant outages, impacting thousands of users across the US and the UK, according to outage tracking website Downdetector.com.
In the US, more than 21,000 users reported issues, while the UK saw over 10,800 incidents of disruption.

The disruption also affected several users in the UAE, who reported issues accessing the platform on Monday, March 10, following the earlier outages in the US and the UK.

Rachel, a Dubai resident, shared her frustration: "I tried to repost a funny thread I saw on X, but it didn't work." She went on to add, "I tried to 'quote' it instead, but it still didn't work."
The disruption was first noticed around 1.54pm, when 439 outage reports were logged on Downdetector.ae. The number of reports fluctuated throughout the afternoon, with users experiencing intermittent access issues.
By 6pm, the situation worsened as users in the UAE were unable to load the platform at all. "I wanted to post some of my travel trips, but the page didn't even load," said 41-year-old Dubai resident Lina.
Downdetector tracks such outages by gathering status reports from multiple sources, revealing the widespread nature of the problem.
While Downdetector’s numbers reflect the reports submitted by users, the actual number of affected users could be higher or lower.
Despite the widespread outage and numerous reports from users, X has yet to issue an official statement acknowledging the glitch or providing details about its cause.
