Alongside inspections, awareness campaigns and educational workshops have been conducted, focusing on proper food storage and preparation methods, food waste reduction, meat quality standards, and occupational safety measures. More than 100 licenced establishments have been issued permits to host Ramadan tents and outdoor events.
The municipality has also strengthened food safety controls at ports of entry, facilitating the release of food shipments while conducting sampling of high-consumption Ramadan products to verify safety and quality.
Commitment to public health
Dr Naseem Mohammed Rafee, acting CEO of the environment, health and safety agency at Dubai Municipality, emphasised the Municipality’s commitment to ensuring public health and food safety throughout Ramadan, "These measures guarantee that all residents have access to safe, high-quality food while proactively safeguarding the community from potential health risks. Additionally, we are enhancing occupational safety and promoting an advanced quality of life for all."
Enhanced health and safety measures
The municipality’s preparations to strengthen health and safety levels include monitoring environmental health, occupational safety, product safety, and residential housing standards.
Special attention is also given to the safety of imported consumer products, including tobacco, smoking products, perfumes, and incense sold in malls, ensuring they meet Dubai’s regulatory standards.
Public health services
The civic body has increased its operational readiness across service sites, allocating teams to areas with expected high visitor numbers, particularly livestock markets, and veterinary quarantines.
To prevent pest-related health risks, the municipality has intensified control operations at Ramadan tent locations and livestock markets and has launched awareness campaigns educating the public on preventive measures to limit pest spread and multiplication.
