Dubai's Hindu Temple, Gurudwara announce closure 'until further notice'

Several churches in the emirate also announced the cancellation of worship services and masses from today until further notice

Amid the regional conflict, several houses of worship have announced temporary closures.

Dubai's Hindu Temple announced that they would remain shut for "safety and security reasons". The closure "until further notice" comes amid instructions by Dubai authorities, the temple said.

Gurudwara Guru Nanak Darbar Dubai also announced that it would remain closed for security reasons, as per official instructions. The Darbar said it would be shut "until further notice," and asked for the community's cooperation.

Shri Krishna Temple in Bur Dubai also confirmed to Khaleej Times that it will remain closed from today until further notice. This comes after instructions by Dubai's Community Development Authority, in line with the authority's commitment to safefguarding worshippers.

As reported by Khaleej Times earlier today, several churches in the emirate also announced the cancellation of worship services and masses from today until further notice. The move comes amid Passion or Holy Week, when churches typically see some of their largest gatherings of the year.

On March 9, BAPS Hindu Mandir announced its closure as a precautionary measure "in alignment with national security advisories". While the temple would remain closed to visitors until further notice, the Swamis would continue offering prayers for peace and protection, the temple said.
