Applications for the second round of Golden Visas for teachers will be open on October 15

Dubai Crown Prince Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has directed the granting of the Golden Visas to more than 200 distinguished teachers and educators in early childhood centres, schools, and international universities across the emirate.
The decision was taken in recognition of their outstanding performance and significant contributions to Dubai's private education system.
“Teachers and educators are the ones who light the way forward. They inspire, guide, and give our children the skills and confidence to succeed," -Sheikh Hamdan said.

“By awarding the Golden Visa to exceptional teachers, we are showing how much Dubai values knowledge, integrity, and service. Our schools will always be places where the future is nurtured and where the next generation can thrive,” he added.
The new directions by the Dubai royal come as the world celebrates World Teachers Day on October 5.
"On World Teachers’ Day, we recognise their dedication and affirm that supporting them is the best investment we can make in the future of Dubai. Their impact goes beyond classrooms, building the character of our society and strengthening Dubai’s global stature,” Sheikh Hamdan, who also serves as UAE Deputy Prime Minister, and Minister of Defence, said.
Out of 435 teachers who applied for the long-term residency in the first phase of the initiative, 223 educators were awarded the Golden Visa, representing 51% of the total.
Of the 223 Golden Visas that were offered to educators, 157 were awarded to educators and staff from schools, 60 to universities, and six to early childhood centres.
Applicants who were awarded the Golden Visas play roles ranging from senior educational leadership to social workers and librarians.
As for the criteria for selection, the initiative has set professional qualifications, achievements, contributions to education and society, and positive feedback from students, parents, and the wider community as guidelines.
Special recognition was given to candidates who had received national or international awards, published research in recognised journals, or had made an exceptional impact within their institutions and communities.
On October 15, applications for the second round of Golden Visas for teachers will open. Educators working in private early childhood centres, schools, and international higher education institutions in Dubai will have a chance to apply until December 15.
In October 2024, Sheikh Hamdan announced that Golden Visas will be given to educators who have made outstanding contributions to Dubai's private education sector.
Through this initiative, Dubai aims to attract talented educators to the emirate, encouraging them to contribute to a bright future for education in the city.
It aligns with the Dubai Education Strategy for the next decade, focusing on bringing in exceptional teachers who are passionate about promoting lifelong learning.
