Dubai’s charming countryside will be transformed into cultural, tourist and environmental destinations. The project will see the development of areas like Al Faqa, Al Lusayli, Al Habab, Al Marmoom, Al Awir and Margham, among others.
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of UAE and Ruler of Dubai, made the announcement after chairing a Dubai Council meeting on Tuesday.
The project will support a series of development schemes in the countryside to upgrade the level of services and facilities there.
“The aim is to create new economic opportunities for residents of these areas,” tweeted Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid.
The council also approved a new vision for residential neighbourhoods for Emiratis. A plan will be presented within a month to develop the first four neighbourhoods: Al Khawaneej, Hatta, Al Barsha and Al Mizhar.
“Providing a high quality of life for our citizens is a priority,” Sheikh Mohammed added.
