The Dubai Government's Human Resources Department on Saturday, August 24, announced Hijri New Year holiday.

In a circular issued by the department, the Hijri New Year (Muharram 1) 1441 will be an official paid holiday for all government entities and establishments in the UAE, Emarat Al Youm reported on Sunday.
According to astronomers, Muharram 1 is likely to fall on September 1 (Sunday), making it a long weekend.
