Dubai announces free green waste removal service
The Waste Management Department of Dubai Municipality has announced that the civic body will provide free service for bulk removal of waste composed of garden or park waste, such as grass or flower cuttings and hedge trimmings.

Abdul Majeed Saifaie, Director of the Waste Management Department, said: “Dubai is one of most beautiful cities in the world, we appreciate the residents for their high level of education and awareness on different ways of disposing various types of waste.
They have always cooperated with the civic body in making all our campaigns and initiatives a big success so far.

“Now we are in a new campaign aimed at creating awareness on the proper disposal of green waste generated from parks and gardens of individuals as a result of regular maintenance work of gardens such as trimming and beautification,” Saifaie said.
He said that recently, some cases of unauthorised disposal of garden waste were reported from certain areas in the emirate.
“As the civic body is always alert regarding the comprehensive cleanliness of the city and since we have set our goal to reach to zero waste by recycling and reusing all type of waste in the nearest future possible, we will never allow any type of bad behaviour in the Emirate of Dubai,” he said added.
He went on to say that DM’s dedicated team is always ready to advise members of society on acceptable methods of waste disposal and that anyone can call the hotline 800900 to take advantage of the free waste removal services of Dubai Municipality for either green waste or bulk household waste.
“Within this campaign, we have planned to use all possible media to disseminate the message to the maximum members of society and we never forget the role of media in creating a high level of cleanliness awareness in our city,” he added.
