Dubai: 7 popular parks get new sports fields that blend art and sustainability

Seven popular parks in Dubai now have innovative sports fields — their designs are not only inspired by the particular sport they offer but also art and sustainability.

The volleyball court in Al Mankhool Park, for example. has been built using recycled tyres, ensuring highest sustainability standards. Likewise, the basketball courts feature dynamic graphics highlighting athleticism and player movement. 

These sports fields — with high-quality sporting infrastructure — have been built across public parks, recreational facilities, and neighbourhood parks in seven key locations, including Mankhool Park, Uptown Mirdif Park, Hor Al Anz, Al Satwa, Al Barsha Lake, Al Jafilia Square, and Al Warqa Park, announced Dubai Municipality on Sunday.

Significantly, these sports fields will be more than just playing areas; they will serve as multi-purpose spaces that aim to encourage physical activity, artistic expression, and community engagement.

Each sports field boasts of a unique, contemporary design that combines artistic creativity with high-quality sporting infrastructure. 

The courts have distinctive artwork, including hand-painted designs by local and international artists, reflecting the spirit of Dubai’s vibrant culture and sports scene. 

The sport fields are designed in collaboration with leading international companies in the sports, food, and services sectors, with logos of these companies being also integrated into the designs.
