The Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation has donated Dh500,000 to the Dubai Police’s General Directorate of Correctional and Penal institutions.
The foundation’s goodwill gesture will help repay the debts of some of the inmates.
The financial aid will help these needy inmates reunite with their family members and return to the social mainstream as reformed individuals.
Khalid Al Thani, Deputy Secretary-General of the Awqaf and Minors Affairs Foundation, handed over the cheque to Brigadier Marwan Abdul Karim Julfar, Deputy Director of the Dubai Police’s General Directorate of Correctional and Penal institutions.
