The Sharjah Charity International (SCI) has paid Dh1 million to clear the debts of 31 prisoners in coordination with the Sharjah Police. Abdullah Mubarak Al Dukhan, Secretary General of the SCI, said the prisoners have got a new lease in life and will be able to reintegrate in society.
"Their release will bring joy to their families and help them become active members of society," said Al Dukhan. "Their experiences in prison have helped them understand life."
The official called on philanthropists to continue supporting the charity 'in order to spread joy among the needy.'
