Deputy Chief of Dubai Police travels on Etihad Rail to Fujairah

Lieutenant General Dhahi Khalfan Tamim, Deputy Chief of Police and Public Security in Dubai, recently took part in a trial journey aboard an Etihad Rail passenger train running from Al Qudra in Dubai to Al Hilal City Station in Fujairah.
During the journey, Emirati professionals from Etihad Rail briefed the Lieutenant General on the latest developments of this landmark national project, including the initial passenger routes scheduled to commence operations later this year.
These routes will link Abu Dhabi via Mohamed Bin Zayed City, Dubai at Jumeirah Golf Estates, and Fujairah at Al Hilal City through the UAE’s national railway network.

The lieutenant general was joined by Shadi Malak, CEO of Etihad Rail; Major General Ahmed Al Maqoodi, director general of the Office of the Deputy Chief of Police and Public Security; along with senior officers and Etihad Rail officials.
He was also updated on future routes that will be introduced in phases, ultimately expanding the network to 11 strategically located stations. These stations are designed to enhance connectivity across the Emirates, providing safe, reliable, and efficient travel for residents, citizens, and visitors alike.

Praising the project, the lieutenant general described Etihad Rail as one of the UAE’s most significant infrastructure initiatives, reflecting the continued support of the nation’s leadership for projects that advance the country’s transport and infrastructure ecosystem.
He emphasised that the railway is a cornerstone of the UAE’s transport infrastructure, promoting economic growth, sustainability, and reliable mobility between the Emirates.
He highlighted that the project forms a key pillar of the UAE’s vision for an integrated national transport network, supporting the country’s development and its role as a regional and global logistics hub. He also noted that Etihad Rail strengthens community connectivity and contributes significantly to national sustainability objectives.
At the conclusion of the journey, the Lieutenant General expressed his gratitude to the teams responsible for this milestone, under the leadership of Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of Etihad Rail.
The visit also included a tour of Al Hilal City Passenger Station in Fujairah, where he reviewed the progress of ongoing development works. Strategically located within major residential and economic zones, the station is designed to ensure easy access, smooth passenger flow, and a modern, comfortable travel experience.
