Deadline to register for the 5th Sharjah Children Biennial (SCB) organised by Sharjah Children Centres, SCC, has been extended until next Thursday.
One of the most prominent international art platforms for children in the region, the SCB will take place from January 15 to February 15, 2017, under the slogan "A World as Big as Your Imagination".
"This move reflects our strategy to involve as many interested young participants as possible. We have extended the registration deadline as several applications kept trickling in even after the original deadline, to give children around the world the opportunity to finalise and submit their artworks before the year-end holidays.
"We are extremely pleased with the growing number of high quality submissions we have received this far, and the many more we look forward to receive," said Reem BinKaram, president of Sharjah Children Biennial and director of Sharjah Children Centres.
"Sharjah Children Biennial is a pivotal international event celebrating the artistic talents of children, and its growing popularity speaks volumes of the strides it has made in engaging and nurturing the young generations in art, and the great deal of significance people around the world have entrusted to this event," added BinKaram.
Children and adults aged 6 to 18 years from around the world are eligible to participate in the following categories: Architecture Design, Environment, and Fantasy and Reality.
