UAE confirms return of all elements of armed forces from Yemen

The Ministry of Defense has issued a statement, announcing the completion of the return of all elements of the UAE Armed Forces from the Republic of Yemen, in implementation of the announced decision to end the remaining tasks of counter-terrorism teams, ensuring the safety of the elements and in coordination with the relevant partners.

AFP reported that the United Arab Emirates had confirmed its last troops had left Yemen and called for de-escalation as some separatist forces were hit by deadly airstrikes on Friday.

"The UAE concluded the presence of its counterterrorism forces," a government official said, adding it "remains committed to dialogue, de-escalation, and internationally supported processes as the only sustainable path to peace", according to AFP.
