UAE expresses solidarity with Qatar, Turkey; offers condolences over helicopter crash

The ministry conveyed its sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the martyrs from the Qatari Armed Forces and the joint Qatari-Turkish forces

UAE has expressed its solidarity and sincere condolences with Qatar and Turkey over the martyrdom of six people following the crash of a helicopter in Qatar’s territorial waters, as a result of a technical malfunction during a routine mission.

In a statement, the UAE's Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) conveyed its sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the martyrs from the Qatari Armed Forces and the joint Qatari-Turkish forces, as well as to the government and people of Qatar and Turkey, over this tragic loss.

All of the seven people on board a Qatar helicopter that crashed into the sea off the coast of the Gulf country were found dead, according to the Qatar Ministry of Interior.

The seven deceased have been identified as:

  • Captain (Pilot) Mubarak Salem Daway Al-Marri, Captain (Pilot) Saeed Nasser Samekh, Sergeant Fahad Hadi Ghanem Al-khayarin, and Corporal Mohammed Maher Mohammed from Qatar Armed Forces

  • Major (Air Defense) Sinan Taştekin from Qatar from Turkey Joint Forces, and Suleiman Cemra Kahraman and Ismail Anas Can, who were Turkish civilian collaborators.
