UAE condemns Iranian drone attacks on Bahrain, expresses solidarity with Manama
The UAE said it supports all measures aimed at safeguarding Bahrain's security and stability

The UAE has condemned in the strongest terms the hostile Iranian drone attacks that targeted Bahrain on June 27.

In a statement, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA) affirmed that these hostile attacks constitute "a flagrant violation of the sovereignty of the Kingdom of Bahrain, and a threat to its security and stability".
The Ministry expressed the UAE's full solidarity with the Kingdom of Bahrain, and its support for all measures aimed at safeguarding its security and stability.

Earlier on Saturday, Bahrain issued a statement condemning what it said were Iranian drone attacks on its territory. The Kingdom said it reserved the full right to defend its sovereignty and security.
Iran said earlier it had carried out strikes against targets linked to US forces in the region, without identifying the targets or saying where they were located.
The attacks followed US strikes on missile and drone storage facilities in Iran in response to an Iranian attack on a cargo ship in the Strait of Hormuz, the US Central Command said in a statement early on Saturday.
After Thursday's strike on the cargo ship off Oman's coast, Iran did not acknowledge responsibility. Instead, it asserted its authority to regulate shipping through the Strait of Hormuz, said vessels must comply with routes designated by Tehran, warned Gulf states against siding with Washington, and said the Iran-U.S. interim agreement gave it control over ship traffic through the strategic waterway.
