The UAE has strongly condemned a deadly bombing that took place inside a mosque in Syria's Homs on Friday.
Eight people were killed in the blast that occured at a mosque of the Alawite minority sect in the Syrian city, according to the Syrian state news agency SANA said.
"In the strongest terms, the UAE denounced the terrorist attack that took place inside a mosque in Homs, central Syria, which resulted in the death and injury of a number of innocent civilians," Afra Al Hameli, Director of Strategic Communications at UAE's Ministry of Foreign Affairs said.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs stressed that the UAE expresses its strong condemnation of such terrorist acts and its firm rejection of all forms of violence and terrorism aimed at undermining security and stability.
It also extended its sincere condolences and sympathy to the families of the victims of this heinous attack, as well as to the Syrian governmentc and its brotherly people, wishing a speedy recovery to all those injured.
An ultra-conservative Sunni Muslim Syrian group known as Saraya Ansar al-Sunnah said on its Telegram channels that it carried out the attack. The group previously claimed responsibility for a suicide bombing at a Damascus church in June that killed 20 people.
SANA cited Syrian Health Ministry official Najib al-Naasan as saying 18 others were wounded and that the figures were not final, indicating they could rise.
Local official Issam Naameh told Reuters the blast occurred during Friday noon prayers.
