Centro Sharjah to hold health day to support Healthy City campaign

The emirate of Sharjah, was recently recognised as the first Healthy City in the region by World Health Organisation. To further support the initiative, Centro Sharjah in association with Sharjah Health Promotion department and Fitness First Gym is organising a Health Day at the Hotel Premise.

About The Campaign:Sharjah Health and Tourism is a campaign organized by health promotion Department in the Supreme Council for family affairs that aims in increasing the awareness of health practices that tourists can adopt in different tourism places in Sharjah. The program has targeted 55 different tourist sites and addressed more than 1000 health facts and practices that are related to the targeted sites.
According to a release issued today, The Health Day is an initiative to collectively invite the community for free health tests & wellness lectures conducted by authorities from Sharjah Health Promotion department. The aim is to create awareness about health related issues affecting the society and work towards cumulative betterment.
"We are extremely eager to play our role in the Healthy City project" said Michael Kasch, General Manager. He added "This distinction for Sharjah compliments its reputation of being the Cultural Hub and is a great step forward to improve health and environmental levels of the city, in addition to strengthening community participation in the program".
