A new limited edition coffee table book has been launched lauding achievers from Maharashtra based in the UAE.
Icons of Maharashtra not only includes success stories of the people but also celebrates their contribution to the place they now call home — the UAE.
“I hope the stories of iconic achievements will inspire the new generation to follow suit,” said Ramdas Athawle, National President of Republic Party and Indian Minister of Social Justice and Empowerment, while launching the book in Dubai.
“What you get are the blessings, but what you spread are your learnings,” said the book’s publisher Vikas Bhargava, CCO of DCom Designs.
“It is a testimony to the relentless efforts the leaders of both India and the UAE have taken to empower and establish a positive culture where economic growth goes hand in hand with personal growth,” he added.
Dr Aman Puri, Consul-General of India in the UAE, said the book will grace the aura of Maharashtra Community not only in UAE but also around the globe.
Dignitaries who attended the event praised the book’s accomplishments. Awadh Mohammad bin Sheikh Mujren, director-general of ETF, said the achievements will be an inspiration to achieve bigger goals for the younger generations.
“Maharashtrians are always front runners of the society, today they are seen as great achievers,” added Paras Shahdadpuri, chairman of Nikai Group.
Dr Sunil Manjrekar, president of GMBF Global, said the publisher has always been enthusiastic about celebrating the accomplishments of the NRI community in the UAE. Emirati businessman Dr Bu Abdullah also expressed his happiness to attend the event.
Meanwhile, Ram Buxani, chairman of Cosmos Group, said in a message: “I’m always impressed with the achieving spirit of Maharashtra — great place, great people.”
