Capital gears up for National Day
ABU DHABI - Local departments and federal institutions in Abu Dhabi are gearing up in full swing to mark the 36th anniversary of the founding of the United Arab Emirates.

Eng. Nasser Abdullah Al Junaibi, Head of Public Services, Department of Municipal Affairs, Abu Dhabi, said the City Image Section is engaged in hectic preparations to deck up public gardens and municipality buildings with colourful laser lights and decorations.
According to him, the Units of Projects Promotion and Information will be presenting folk dances at the Khalifa Park, which has been made the venue of traditional celebrations for the National Day.

A host of competitions and games have been lined up and will commence from tomorrow and continue for five days.
Meanwhile, the General Authority for Islamic Affairs and Awqaf (GAIAA) will this evening host a poetry competition at the Abu Dhabi Cultural Foundation.
