The man was identified as 27-year-old Sheehan, who hailed from the southern Indian state of Kerala.
According to a source in Dubai Police, they suspect that the man committed suicide but can only confirm the cause of death after the forensic test and other investigation is complete. “The police was informed by a passer-by about the dead body hanging on a tree yesterday morning. On rushing to the site, we removed the body from the tree top and found some cuts on one of his hands.”
The source disclosed that police are investigating the cause of death not ruling out any possibilities of a foul play in the death of the deceased. “We do not have more information about the deceased. The body was identified by his brother and we have asked him to bring the passport of the deceased," the source added.
“However, our assessment states it could be suicide. But we can confirm it only after the forensic tests. We are waiting for the forensic report and we will do a detailed investigation," the source disclosed.
However, the brother of the deceased when contacted Khaleej Times, refused to comment on Sheehan's death. But, it was learnt that Sheehan had recently joined Burj Al Arab and worked in its housekeeping department. He had only recently joined the hotel and lived alone in his room, accommodation provided by the hotel. He was last seen at the hotel on Tuesday after he finished his duty in the morning shift.
The hotel, however, refused to give any details on Sheehan saying the official spokesperson from its press department will contact the newspapers for further details today.
