Attaining a certain level of fitness is not a daunting task, and now, neither is making or breaking a world record. In the last 30 days of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, residents of Dubai have made and broken some incredible world records for various fitness activities.
Authorities at the Guinness World Records (GWR) have taken the wraps off Guinness World Records Live! - the ultimate live record-breaking experience in Dubai. Specifically made for shopping malls, live events, and in-door installations, the Guinness World Records Live!, organised as part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge final weekend, which took place on Friday and Saturday.
"You don't even need to register to be part of the event. The live event gives people the opportunity to become everyday heroes," said Fiona Gruchy Craven, a coach from GWR.
Participants and fitness enthusiasts had the unique opportunity to make or break three world records. They were - most side-to-side hops on one foot in under 30 seconds, most football passes in under 30 seconds, and most beach paddle ball passes in under a minute. Given that this GWR Live! was part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, all the record attempts were related to fitness.
Italian national and football coach Nicola Spessato who broke two records during the course of the Dubai Fitness Challenge said:"I think it's a fantastic initiative. I am very impressed with the way everything has been organised and it's great that I was able to break a few records. I've always been into sports, but the challenge gave me an excuse to get out more.
"The beautiful thing about the event is that it is open to everyone. One of our core values is inclusiveness. It doesn't matter if you're tall or short. Everyone gets a shot at being a hero," added Fiona.
