Celebrity trainer Joe Wicks is geared up to set a new Guinness World Record of the largest 30-minute High Intensity Interval Training (HIIT) session in Dubai today.
The 33-year-old British fitness trainer, commonly known as 'the body coach' on his social media platforms, had previously set the record in his hometown of London in 2017. It was attended by 3,804 fitness enthusiasts in London's Hyde Park, and he is confident that Dubai can "smash that by a few thousands".
The free to attend HIIT class will be held at Skydive Dubai at 7am as part of The Dubai Fitness Challenge.
HIIT involves short periods of exercises with intervals in between and is often described as an efficient and a quick way of burning fat.
"The best thing about it is that you can be done in 20 minutes and even do the exercises at home. It really is for those leading a busy lifestyle, both at work and at home," said Joe.
The celebrity trainer, who has over 2.8 million followers on Instagram, said that he chose Dubai to break his own record for its favourable weather conditions.
"I will keep it very simple and easy to follow, which will include body weight training such as squats and lunges," he added.
Residents are encouraged to book online via the fitness challenge website.
