Indian expat hopes to bring family to UAE after winning Dh50,000 with Big Ticket
Four expats — two Indian, one Bangladeshi and one Pakistani — won the grand prize with the second e-weekly draw of January

Big Ticket announced its winners for the second e-weekly draw of January, which included four expats from Bangladesh, India and Pakistan.
Rafiqul Islam, Shafik Paika Mohammed, Mohammed Ali Riyas and Irshad Gull each took away Dh50,000 each with the draw.

Shafik Paika Mohammed, a 36-year-old sales professional from Mangalore, has been living alone in Dubai for the past 15 years, while his family remains back home. Shafik finally won the draw after trying for a decade with a ticket he bought with his friend. He now plans to bring his family more often to the UAE.

“It was a wonderful surprise, I truly needed this win. I plan to split the cash prize with my friend, and I look forward to bringing my family to the UAE more often for visits and spending quality time together.”
Shafik plans to continue taking part in Big Ticket and encouraged others to remain optimistic and keep trying.
Another winner, Irshad Gull, a Pakistani expat who works at a desert safari tourism company in the UAE, is celebrating his win alongside seven of his group members. He has been living in Dubai for the past 23 years and has been purchasing tickets for nearly a decade before finally securing a win.
“When I received the winning call, I was extremely happy. Winning after taking part for nearly a decade feels especially rewarding. While I haven’t yet decided how I will use my share of the cash prize, I do know that I will be splitting it with my group," he said.
He plans to continue buying with his group, saying that playing together makes the experience even more exciting and rewarding.
The other two winners, Rafiqul Islam from Bangladesh and Mohammed Ali Riyas from India were excited after their wins which they secured by buying tickets online.
Prizes in January
In the month of January, participants have the chance of winning a grand Dh20-million grand prize, giving one lucky winner the opportunity to begin the year as an instant multi‑millionaire. Five prizes of Dh1 million each will also be awarded.
With winners announced throughout the month, customers can watch the e-draws live at 11am on the YouTube channel and website, as new winners are revealed in real time.
Meanwhile, those who purchase two or more tickets in a single transaction between January 1 and 24 could earn a spot at the live draw on February 3, where guaranteed cash prizes between Dh50,000 and Dh150,000 await. The names of the four selected participants will be announced on February 1.
Customers will also have the chance to drive away in a BMW X5, with the draw scheduled for February 3, alongside a second luxury vehicle, the Range Rover Velar.
Tickets are available online at the website or at counters located in Zayed International Airport and Al Ain Airport.
