Ronald came to the UAE on a visit visa in September last year and signed an accommodation agreement with the hotel in Deira.

The room charge was fixed at Dh120, including food, beverages and other services. On April 24 this year, the accused was referred to the police after he refused to pay the bills to the hotel. During the General Prosecution’s investigation, he said that his bad financial condition prevented him from paying hotel bills, and hence he was referred to the court on charge of non-payment.

Before his arrest, Ronald found a job in a construction company. Now the company is trying to pay the bill and get him out of the six-month imprisonment, and the case was referred to the Dubai Civil Court. The accused who stayed seven months in the hotel had signed the agreement without the company’s knowledge.
