Steve Harvey has a question for you: what picture comes to mind when you think of the Middle East? If you’re thinking ‘desert’, the American actor and host wants you to know: you’re not wrong. But, he adds, it’s time to think beyond that image. It’s time to think about mountains.

The celebrity is launching an exclusive docuseries to be released this weekend and inviting one and all to embark on a journey across the UAE to experience life as a citizen.

The six-episode docuseries, titled ‘When Steve meets East’, will highlight the hidden gems of the Emirates in line with the ‘World’s Coolest Winter’ campaign launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, earlier this week.

The docuseries, to be released on Steve Harvey’s social media channels every Friday — starting today until January 22, 2021 — will take viewers to the mountains of Khorfakkan, desert and seas of Dubai, tribal life of Ras Al Khaimah, churches and mosques of Abu Dhabi and the nature of Fujairah.

“I have been in The Emirates several times, and it’s one of my favorite places in the world,” said the Hollywood star. “The Emirates brings together so many diverse elements; it’s like experiencing the entire globe in one place. Very few places in the world provide that experience that combines a rich local cultural with a unique universality.”

From dressing up in traditional Emirati clothing to living in the mountains for a day with an Emirati tribe, trying Emirati pizza to touring Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, the series promises to highlight the wonders of the Emirates during the winter season.

Three of the episodes, co-hosted by travel vlogger Nuseir Yassin, will be published on Nas Daily’s online channels as well.
