Duplicate cleaning materials of international brands worth Dh2 million were seized at a factory in Ajman's industrial zone by Ajman's Department of Economic Development (DED-Ajman).
Around 700,000 filled and empty packs were confiscated along with manufacturing, filling and packing machines during the crackdown.
The factory has been fined and shut down. All legal proceedings have been taken against it.
Hassan Ali Al Shehhi, director of anti-commercial fraud department, said: "The confiscation is part of DED efforts to control markets and economic establishments and enhance commercial and consumer protection."
Al Shehhi pointed out that DED combats commercial fraud and counterfeit goods through its regular inspection campaigns. These campaigns are aimed to curb practices which cause damage to investors and brand holders and pose risks to consumers, he added.
