With Union Pledge Day being celebrated on July 18, Ajman has paid tribute in a unique manner — by naming one of its streets "Ahd Al Ittihad" which literally translates to "Union Pledge".

The day marks the signing of the declaration of the Union and the UAE Constitution, exactly 54 years ago.

The street serves as the main entrance to the Al Raqaib 2 area, a place that already bears names linked to the Emirates' history and national identity.

The area includes the United Home, 1971 Street, several housing projects and applied schools, which focus on enhancing the quality of life and skill development for UAE Nationals.

Ajman's Department of Municipality and Planning inaugurated 'Ahd Al Ittihad' to commemorate an enduring national memory and embed the country's identity in its landmarks.

As the emirate seeks to blend its modern features with its heritage, Ajman is implementing similar naming projects to highlight history and the spirit of the Union.
