Starting from Sunday, September 4, 2016 the 50 per cent radar fines discount scheme that the Emirati citizens had been enjoying since 2003 has been revoked, based on a recommendation made by the Ajman Executive Council.
UAE nationals were able to avail this reduction in the traffic violation fines provided in case they did not exceed twelve violations per year.
Brigadier Sheikh Sultan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Commander in chief of Ajman police, said that the traffic violations recorded before September 4, 2016, will be discounted, while those registered after the date will have to be paid in full amount.
The aim behind such a decision, he said, is to fulfill the strategy of the ministry of interior and cut down on the accidents rates and road fatalities in the emirate.
