The Abu Dhabi Agriculture and Food Safety Authority (ADAFSA) spokesperson said that food unfit for consumption was found in the canteen of ADC Private School.
ADAFSA spokesperson Thamer Rashid Al Qasimi said food that could have easily been spoiled if not refrigerated was found to be stored at room temperature.
Also, there were no records about the suitable temperature of food when it was received from the supplier, the department noticed.
The canteen operated with a commercial licence number CN-1000509.
Such serious violation jeopardises the safety of students, he added, and stressed that the canteen will remain closed until appropriate steps are taken to address the violations.
