A drive that aims to instill values of tolerance among married couples to reduce family disputes has been launched in Abu Dhabi.
The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department on Thursday announced the beginning of the 'Tolerant Family' campaign, which will provide family counselling aimed at promoting the inculcation of the values of tolerance in resolving family and marital differences. The initiative is also intended to strengthen relationships and ensure the cohesion of the family and Emirati society.

The awareness campaign began with various events at Yas Mall in Abu Dhabi, taking place for four days, where family counsellors provide consultations to resolve family and marital disputes, by introducing ways to deal correctly with children to ensure their proper care and upbringing, as well as provide interactive activities for children in a pleasant atmosphere.

Counselor Yousef Saeed Al Ebri, Undersecretary of the Abu Dhabi Judicial Department said the department is committed to continue with efforts to enhance the active contribution to the consolidation of the value of tolerance through a range of initiatives supporting this trend, in conjunction with the Year of Tolerance 2019.

"The expansion of family counselling and reaching the largest possible segment of beneficiaries, aims to promote the dissemination of the values of tolerance in resolving family disputes, which achieves the sustainability and stability of the family as the basis for building a tolerant and cohesive society, each of whom will play its role effectively in the process of the prosperity and development of the UAE," said El Abri.

The awareness program in the 'Tolerant Family' campaign is being provided through specialised family counsellors in Alternative disputes resolution division at the judicial department.

The consultations by counsellors enable family members to resolve disputes and overcome them, with a focus on providing advice and guidance that contributes to ending disputes and enabling couples to reach a stable family life.

The couples are being taught about the art of dealing with and communicating with the other party and the impact of problems on children, the importance of effective communication between individuals and the compatibility of parental relationships to ensure that children are not affected.
