The Department of Transport and the Integrated Transport Centre in Abu Dhabi have installed the Mussafah Bridge road toll ahead of the toll system coming into effect on October 15.

The installation of Sheikh Zayed Bridge and Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Bridge road tolls is set to be completed in the coming days.

From October 15, motorists need to pay a toll fee of Dh4 for peak hours from Saturday to Thursday (7am to 9am and 5pm to 7pm); and Dh2 during off-peak hours, Fridays and public holidays. The maximum daily fee is Dh16 per vehicle. Users can recharge their account through the website or mobile application.
According to an official from the Department of Transport, the toll gate system is expected to reduce traffic congestion by six per cent during morning and evening peak hours. It will boost the use of public transport systems and also carpooling.

Why do I need to pay a toll?

The toll is a mandatory fee for all vehicles passing under the four toll gates in Abu Dhabi. Road tolls have a number of benefits like reducing congestion at peak hours; encouraging the use of public transport; and encouraging carpooling and alternative modes of transport that have less impact on the environment
Do I need to get toll stickers like Dubai's Salik?
No. Users can simply recharge their ITPS accounts through the website or mobile application.
How can I register for the toll gate system?
You may log on to https://dot.gov.abudhabi or https://itps.itc.gov.ae/. It costs Dh100 to register each non-Abu Dhabi registered vehicle. The registration is free for Abu Dhabi registered vehicles.
How much is the toll gate fee?
The toll gate fees are unified. The fee will be Dh4 during peak hours from Saturday to Thursday (7am to 9am and 5pm to 7pm). During off-peak hours, Fridays and public holidays, the toll fee will be Dh2. The toll collection system operates 24/7, with a daily maximum fee of Dh16 per vehicle.
Is the toll fee inclusive of VAT?
The toll gate system and ITPS are exempted from VAT.
Are there speed cameras on the toll gates?
There are no speed control cameras on the toll gates.
What should I do if I drive through a toll gate without any balance in my account?
You must top-up your account within five working days. If you don't, you will get a Dh50 fine per day.
Is there a cap on the number of vehicles I can register?
You only need one account to register any number of vehicles you own.
Where are the toll gates located?
The toll gates are located on the Sheikh Zayed Bridge, Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Bridge, Al Maqta Bridge and Mussafah Bridge.
