"All kitchen areas, including exhaust fans, must be cleaned from oils and gas cylinders must be closed before sleeping. Electric appliances must be switched off when not in use and children must be kept away from the kitchen at all times. Installing heat and smoke detectors is also very important," stressed the police.
All adults must learn to use fire extinguishers and also know how to alert family members and evacuate them in case of emergencies.
