Seventeen platforms have been activated at various police stations across Abu Dhabi to enable inmates communicate with their family virtually through the 'remote visits' iniative.
Abu Dhabi Police on Saturday that as the UAE marks the 'digital month', it has completed the activation of the platforms through remote visiting, thereby connecting inmates in police stations with their families.
The initiative is spread across the police stations in emirate with eight centers in Al Ain and Al Dhafra.
Brigadier Ahmed Saif bin Zaytoon, director of Community Security Sector at Abu Dhabi Police said the objective is to provide digital services for families, reduce time and effort for families of inmates and facilitate remote visiting for elderly and people of determination.
"The initiative aims to reduce time and effort for families of inmates by having access to virtual visits in police stations," said Zaytoon.
"This reflects the police efforts to provide digital services for families, and especially the elderly and people of determination."
He noted that Abu Dhabi Police has adapted to using the latest communication technology to strengthen their security system.
