Police have started patrolling roads in Abu Dhabi to check vehicles' tyres in their latest safety initiative.
In a video shared on Twitter on Sunday, the Abu Dhabi Police can be seen pulling over drivers for the inspection and reminding motorists to replace their cars' tyres if they spot a problem.

The cops called on all drivers to use high-quality tyres and take note of their expiry dates.
Tyre bursts, they reiterated, may lead to serious traffic accidents. In summer last year, such incidents claimed three lives and injured two others.  Within the same period, more than 6,000 motorists were fined in the Capital for tyre safety violations.
Recently, in Dubai, two men were killed and five were injured after a garbage truck rammed into a stationary bus. The bus had reportedly stopped in the middle of the road after one of its tyres burst.
