Abu Dhabi temporarily closes 5 healthcare facilities for serious violations

Five healthcare facilities were temporarily shut down in Abu Dhabi after serious violations were found during routine inspections by the Department of Health.

These facilities were closed temporarily and all staff were suspended, pending referral to the Public Prosecution for investigation.

Violations included issuing sick leave certificates without proper medical examination or patient attendance in exchange for payment, manipulating medical records, employing unlicensed practitioners, and breaching licensing requirements.

The authority confirmed that the closure and license suspension will remain in effect pending legal and administrative proceedings.

Meanwhile on March 10, the authority shut down a healthcare facility in the Capital for issuing paid sick leaves without patient attendance. The facility was referred to the Public Prosecution for violating laws and regulations governing the healthcare sector.
