During the event, 28 companies pledge to implement goals to reduce carbon emissions, adopt more sustainable ways in managing their operations
International tourists can once again explore the wonders of Abu Dhabi now. Local authorities have reviewed and updated the Covid-19 safety measures to be implemented in the emirate for the entry of visitors from abroad.
With its rich cultural showcase, Abu Dhabi — one of the safest cities in the world — is the perfect getaway destination for tourists raring to enjoy the new-normal winter season.
At the onset of the pandemic, the emirate had deployed stringent measures, including massive Covid-19 testing, disinfection drives, clinical trials and roll-out of vaccination programme, to revive the economic activity.
Such measures resulted in an exceptionally low rate of 0.39 per cent of confirmed cases per total tests conducted in the
emirate.
Strict health and safety measures are in place. International travellers will be able to fly into the Capital only after presenting a valid negative Covid-19 PCR test result received within 96 hours prior to their departure. Upon arrival, all passengers will undergo thermal screening and Covid-19 PCR testing.
Travellers from ‘green’ countries will not need to self-isolate or wear a medical wristband upon receiving a negative test result.
But those from other countries will be required to self-isolate for 10 days.
For those staying for six days or more, a PCR test is required on the sixth day and on 12th day for those staying for 12 days or more. Saood Abdulaziz Al Hosani, undersecretary of DCT Abu Dhabi, is delighted to welcome tourists.
“I am proud of the agility and innovation that DCT Abu Dhabi has shown this year as we have reimagined our approach to culture and tourism, to ensure we can welcome global travellers to our vibrant emirate while protecting the wellbeing of our community and tourists, which remains our top priority.”
Ali Al Shaiba, executive director of Tourism and Marketing at DCT Abu Dhabi, assured that the highest possible safety standards are in place to welcome international travellers.
“We have seen a tremendous response from our industry in ensuring compliance, proven by DCT’s pioneering Go Safe certification, which provides reassurance and peace of mind to the residents, domestic tourists and international visitors alike.”
Abu Dhabi is a diverse destination with cultural sites, heritage locations, museums, theme parks, coupled with kayaking in the mangroves, sand boarding in the desert, jet-skiing, go-karting and unmatched hospitality.
Additionally, there is an amazing shopping season going on with exclusive product launches, offers and host of exciting experiences which the visitors can soak in.
