A group of motorists was arrested in Abu Dhabi's Liwa region for driving recklessly and performing dangerous stunts, in a move against irresponsible driving behaviours that endanger their lives and the lives of other road users.

In a statement, the emirate's police force said that the apprehended violators were also found fleeing from a traffic officer, and driving without licence plates.

Urging road users —especially the youth— to comply with traffic rules and avoid reckless actions, Brigadier General Mohammed Dhahi Al Humairi, Director of the Central Operations Sector at Abu Dhabi Police stressed that there will be zero tolerance for any behaviour that threatens public order or endangers lives and property.
