Abu Dhabi Judicial Dept achieves 100% result

The Abu Dhabi Judicial Department (ADJD) has achieved a 100 per cent completion rate in lawsuits filed last year. The Finance Public Prosecution in Abu Dhabi said the total number of lawsuits being put forward before it stood at 87 until December 31 last year, of which 67 were registered as penal and 20 were registered as administrative.

“Decisions and verdicts were pronounced in all these cases, which included allegations pertaining to public fund crimes, bribery, money laundering, declining to disclose assets and funds, cybercrimes as well as crimes stipulated in the Emirates Securities and Commodities Law’, the Public Prosecution explained, and pointed out that no capital investment lawsuit has been reviewed last year.

Attorney-General of Abu Dhabi, Yousef Saeed Al Ibri said, the record rise of the completion rate in lawsuits reflects the progress achieved by the public prosecutions in the emirate, under the unwavering support extended by the President, His Highness Shaikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to all judiciary apparatuses in the emirate, and his higher directives on facilitating the proceedings procedures between the litigants, and the speedy handling and decision taken in the cases.

He said this was the result of the follow-up by General Shaikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, in the procedures of the judiciary department, as well as the instructions of Shaikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Presidential Affairs, who is also Chairman of ADJD, and his keenness on improving the work in the department, as part of highest international quality standards.

Al Ibri said the achievement mirrored the commitment of the employees to the sense of team work on all administrative and judicial levels, following the advanced systems, and using the hi-tech IT facilities in the stages of investigation. “The objectives laid by the judiciary department for finance department is seen in protection of both public and private fund and achieving the exigencies of public interest for Abu Dhabi.

An official source at the office of the attorney-general in Abu Dhabi said the Finance Public Prosecution had achieved overwhelming success in discharging its assignment since its establishment.

Elaborating, the source said: “The completion rate in lawsuits in 2011 was 100 per cent of the total of 96 cases, compared with the preceding year (2010) which saw 99 per cent on completion in lawsuits.”

The source said the department also achieved remarkable progress in the methods of investigation into funds.— news@khaleejtimes.com
