A healthier city is a predestined goal. Authorities in the UAE are doing their best to not only ensure adequate health facilities, but also upgrade the master plan with an eye on growth statistics. It is a commitment to society for its collective well-being, and part of its vision to further a culture of reliable excellence in healthcare.
From providing a network of health insurers to facilitate screening, testing and diagnosis, Abu Dhabi works with hundreds of concerned health providers to galvanise emergency preparedness, best operation theatres, trauma centres and research facilities.
Abu Dhabi's healthcare statistics also show around 8,500 listed physicians, 1,500 dentists, and minimum of 34,000 health professionals in the private and public sectors. Moreover, a network of 800 pharmacies is more than enough to cater to a growing population for an emirate that has 60-plus hospitals and 1,400 clinics. Lifestyle diseases such as diabetes and cardiovascular disorders, as well as cancer, have attained special coverage in its health plan.
While the UAE health market is expected to grow at an average annual rate of 7 per cent, according to the UAE Healthcare Sector Outlook 2020, the capital is all set to boast a state-of-the-art infrastructure and diagnosis module, which is second to none.
