Seven Emiratis are fighting for their lives in a Khor Fakkan hospital after another Emirati shot them with a Kalashnikov. The suspect used the submachine gun in a gang fight that involved at least 25 people during the five-day National Day break.
Other weapons used in the fight include knives, swords and sticks. The police have confiscated the weapons, including the Kalashnikov. The police have also seized three bullet-ridden Lexus cars that

The exact date of the incident was not immediately clear. On being notified, police patrols, officers from the Criminal Investigation Department of the Sharjah Police and paramedics were dispatched to the site. The seven injured were rushed to the nearest hospital, where they are recuperating in a critical condition.
The police have arrested all the suspects involved in the fight. They recovered the Kalashnikov from the farm of a suspect's father.
Initially, the police arrested three suspects, including the shooter. These three led the police to the other suspects. Four suspects have been released on bail, the police said.
The suspects have reportedly confessed to being involved in the fight. They said the two gangs had a heated argument, when abusive words were exchanged. This led to the fight, they said.
Not an isolated incident
This is the second gang fight in the area in the past few weeks. The police had arrested 15 young Emiratis last month for being involved in a gang fight.
One of the suspects had used a machine gun in the fight and pumped bullets into a victim's abdomen, back and chest.
