While Dubai is synonymous with the word shopping, which is a huge draw for tourists and residents alike, the city offers a variety of entertainment options for kids and families. Of late, there has been an increase in the number of theme parks in the city while several other entertainment and fun destinations for children dot Dubai's landscape. Here are six fun places to visit in Dubai with your kids for an activity-filled weekend.

Flip Out


General Admission: Dh70 for 1-hour flip out

Location: Al Quoz

Flip Out Dubai offers a unique chance for your kids to be a part of the largest trampoline park in the Middle East. Kids can choose from volleyball, dodgeball, football, double-decker trampoline areas, obstacles and mini-foam pits. For those who a love archery, this is a wonderful place to visit.

Bounce

General Access: Dh80 for 1st session

Junior Jumpers: Dh70 for 1st Session

Location: Al Quoz

Recognised as the Gulf's Indoor Sport and Recreation Facility of the Year (2015), Bounce offers 100 interconnected trampolines, circus-grade sponge, giant airbags and springs in colourful spaces. There are separate sessions for ladies and for those who want to lose some calories. It also hosts birthday parties and gatherings for kids.

Phobia Escape Games

Weekdays: Dh290/hour for two

Weekends: Dh330/hour for two

Location: Jumeirah Lake Towers

Phobia offers a unique experience where players are locked in an underground bunker, house of a maniac or another unusual place. During the hour-long game, players have to escape their chosen room (Museum, Book Room, Mad Man's House, etc.) to complete their mission. They are provided with hints and asked to solve puzzles.

Sega Republic

Platinum Pass: Dh300 per person

Junior Platinum Pass: Dh175 per person

Location: Dubai Mall

Sega Republic offers 16 attractions that include jumpoline, rope rush, giant slider, racer and others. Over 100 types of arcade, video and redemption games add to the fun. You also get a chance to snowboard and fight the dead here. It spreads over 76,000sq feet.

IMG Worlds

Location: Sheikh Mohammad Bin Zayed Road

IMG Worlds offers a mixed experience of shopping, live shows, rides, dining and entertainment - even a party if you book in advance. Two of its four zones represent renowned global brands Cartoon Network and Marvel. Spread over 1.5m square feet, it is the largest indoor theme park in the world.

Dubai Garden Glow

General admission: Dh60

Conveniently located beside Sheikh Zayed Road, the Dubai Garden Glow is a relaxing light and sound show where families can enjoy fabulous light displays. Worthy of note are its light tunnels of varying shapes and sizes. They also have complimentary barbeque areas as well as a dinosaur park!
