The Sharjah Police have confiscated 23 vehicles and referred nine violating motorists to public prosecution. The reckless motorists were found driving in a way that posed danger to their life and the life of other road users.
Brigadier Abdullah Mubarak bin Amir, deputy commander-in-chief of Sharjah Police said that the crackdown was held under a police operation titled 'Al Fajr Detector' by the traffic and license department. He noted that the police operation room received various calls from society members reporting the reckless attitude of young drivers on Emirates road near Al Zubair area. The complaints received were about driving at high speed while doing stunt shows during the late night hours.
"We conducted a security operation to deter erring motorists and placed surveillance cameras on the roads to record their violations and take legal actions against them."
