The Sharjah Police are yet to locate the parents of a 3-year-old boy with Asian features, who was found wandering near the Khor Fakkan beach on September 3. A DNA test will now be conducted on the boy to trace his parents, the police have said.
The DNA results will be matched with all the samples the police have in their database.
"It looks like the boy has some form of speech disability," a senior police officer said.
The police referred the case to the Sharjah Public Prosecution after failing to locate his parents.
A passerby found the boy on the beach and informed the police. The police uploaded the boy's photo on social media networks and newspapers, but so far no one has come forward.
The boy is being taken care of by the social welfare department.
The officer urged the public to inform the police on 09-237-00-00 or 09-23-48-111 if they have any information about the boy's parents or relatives.
