$1m up for grabs in UAE water foundation contest

The UAE Water Aid Foundation (UAE Suqia) - one of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Initiatives - has launched a competition to design the logo of the $1 million Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Water Award.
"The UAE Water Aid Foundation launched a competition to design the logo of the Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Global Water Award, in line with the National Innovation Strategy launched by His Highness Shaikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, of developing the country's potential and innovative abilities to make the UAE one of the most innovative countries in the world," said Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the UAE Water Aid Foundation. "In addition, the competition encourages university students to participate in improving sustainable development," he added.
Universities taking part include the American University of the UAE, Zayed University, the American University of Sharjah, the American University of Dubai, the University of Sharjah, United Arab Emirates University and the Khalifa University of Science, Technology, and Research.
