The four-day Eid Al Adha holidays saw more than 12,000 vehicles cruising to the top of Ras Al Khaimah’s Jebel Jais — the UAE’s highest peak. Officials said the mountain’s popularity among residents is a “reflection of the revival of the tourism sector after the Covid-19 curve was flattened in the country”.
Emirati national Mohamed Ibrahim said he enjoyed the Eid feast with his family on the Jebel Jais.“I took my kids to the Saqr Public Park on the second day of the feast. I ensured that my family and I adhered to all precautionary measures including face mask use and social distancing.”
Ahmad Abdullah, an Egyptian resident, said he always spends the first day of Eid on the Jebel Jais. “The weather is fine and the view is scenic from the top,” he said.

Meanwhile, ample visitors were also found visiting public parks in the emirate. The Saqr Public Park, the largest in the emirate, at the Daqdaqa area saw around 1,000 visitors and 300 vehicles, according to sources. “Precautionary measures were strictly observed at tourist and recreational sites during the holidays. Community police patrolled the areas to ensure public safety.”
