1082 teachers to take ADEZ exam

ABU DHABI – Abu Dhabi Education Zone (ADEZ) defined February 24, the day of exams to choose the qualified teachers who want to work at the public and private schools from the next academic year 2008/09, said Mohammad Salim Al Dhahiri, Director General of ADEZ.

He said that 1,082 teachers (nationals, expatriates) would enter the exams to be licenced to work at the schools in the emirate of Abu Dhabi. The national teachers will pass the exams will be distributed according to the geographical areas, however, the expatriates who want to work at private schools it depends on their choices.

The ADEZ rejected 215 applications didn't meet the standards such as the accredited graduation and the two-year experience condition.

The teachers will fill the shortage of some curricula such as the English and French languages, math, history, geographic, physics, biology as well as science. The exams would be, for women teachers, hold at Al Qadisya School and Al Dana, while for the men teachers would enter the exams at Kahlifa School.

The exams will include the tests of English language, computer, general knowledge and specialisation of the curricula.

'The Ministry of Education (MoE) has geared up the new standards of recruiting the licensed teachers to improve the outcomes of the education process and to prepare our students to be qualified to study at the universities,' said Al Dhahiri. He added that the officials at the ADEZ are keen on abide by the standards of giving the teaching licenses to the new teachers preserving the education level and work on improving it. Meanwhile, sources at the ADEZ told this reporter that Al Dhahiri met , the administrators of schools in the capital affirming on the required conditions should be implemented regarding to the classes time table and the necessity of maintaining the schools' buildings on the time without delaying.
