The Court of First Instance heard the case in which the 48-year-old defendant is also accused of harassing the plaintiff constantly with phone calls.

The defendant is also facing the charge of resisting a police officer while trying to arrest him.

The plaintiff, 37, and a mother of two, told the interrogators that on March 22 the defendant intercepted her car at Union Cooperative parking lot in Tawwar and allegedly harassed her
from outside.

By the time the woman called the police the defendant fled the place.

The plaintiff recounted to the police how the defendant used to send her text messages for nine months prior
to the incident. “He used to text message to me on my mobile phone asking me to divorce my husband to marry him. He used to come near my house and damage my car registration plate and pour juice and tea
on my car.”

According to the plaintiff, the accountant did not stop at that point and he also threatened her that he would spell a curse on her to marry him.

“He threatened he would kidnap my daughters and kill and burn me by throwing inflammable liquid on
my face.” The plaintiff’s husband stated in the interrogations that the suspect had been stalking him for four years to get to his wife (the plaintiff).

“He also called on our house number. Once he spoke and asked me to meet him at Tawwar Centre thinking that it was my wife who received the call.”

The husband also said that the accountant frequently came near their house and lured his daughters with candies but the scared girls would
go inside. “He went to their school offering to give them a ride back home but they turned down his offer. My wife told me that he threatened her he would ruin her life, take our daughters and burn her face if she did not date him at a hotel or marry him.”

I complained against him many times to the police stations but withdrew my complaints later, the husband added.
