It was a complete contrast to other days at the Fashion Forward Dubai (FFWD) on Sunday, as some the young designers showed how to mix creativity with commerce.
The four-day long FFWD ended on Sunday with Amato, the brainchild of Furne One, taking the ramp for the final show of Fashion Forward Season 7.
Amato's Furne One presented feminine designs for Fall/Winter 2016, good enough to take you on a mystical journey. The stunning collection of hand dyed fabric and hand stitched ruffled tulle presented by the models featured cosmic prints with leather strapping as well as florals and laces.
Kazakhstan-based designer Saltanat Baimukhamedova, made her debut at the FFWD with her label Salta, which is inspired by Tibetan clothing.
A limited yet elegant colour palette of whites, gold and blacks gave it a minimalistic outlook.
As simple as it looked, it was full of details be it a leather buckle or oversized bead style bibs. Easy and chic, what fashion editors call "a poetic" collection.
At the Kage show, it was a "back to school" feeling as you were presented with fun floral and cool cat prints; cottons and tweed were the favoured fabric.
Designer behind Basmati Abu Ghazaleh and Zayan Ghandour, the founder of Sauce won a big applause from members of the audience. A true testament to know how well received their collections were.
Zayan, The Label, was even one among the finalists for the Dubai Fashion Design Council inaugural Fashion Prize last year.
At the FFWD also, Zayan had all the playful elegance we expect from the label - scallop edges, one shoulder cable knits, butterfly motifs, crochet doilies. But the whole collection was ecplised by the fur lined mules, which looked similar to the Gucci fur slippers.
Though the shoes were just add-ons, seeing such "inspired" shoes, is not what you expect from a designer of this stature.
