at the Aviation Club in Dubai on Thursday, February 2, it was announced at a Press conference at the Dubai Sports Council (DSC) on Wednesday.

The stars for the featured bouts will be veteran US boxer Bob Sapp who also does kick boxing and UAE professional, Eisa Al Dah.

Both boxers were present at the announcement along with officials from the supporters DSC, organisers EMD Sports Services and various sponsors.

The proceeds from the night’s (7.30pm to 11pm on Thursday) collection will go to the Dubai Autism Centre (DAC) which was represented by Sara Baqer at the announcement on Wednesday.

Bob, better known in the ring as ‘The Beast’ said: “This is a great opportunity for me to fight for a good cause and train as well in this wonderful city before I resume my international programme in a short time this season.

“Hopefully, if injury does not come in, I should finish my 12-year career on a high note by the time the season ends.”

Bob is also well known as an actor and a comedian in Hollywood.

The Arabian Warrior, Eisa’s nickname in professional circles, is now in featherweight category having reduced from a heavier division.

“I have been training hard for the occasion and Bob’s trip here will be of a great boon for boxing and for DAC,” Eissa said.

Eisa is the first professional boxer from the UAE. He started his professional career in 2007 when he fought and won against American Lari Foster by knockout, confirming his stance as an internationally acclaimed boxer.

The night’s rounds on Thursday will also see Swede Tufan and Mikaela, winner of the World Professional Boxing Federation title in the welterweight class.

Participation is also expected from Italy, Sweden, France, Iran, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Egypt, the Philippines and Syria. Sara said: “It’s our pleasure to attend the press conference today. I would like to thank all supporters and sponsors of this event, particularly the Dubai Sports Council and EMD Sports Services. EMD has dedicated all profits from tickets to support the Dubai Autism Centre,” a media statement said.
